In 2003, having previously served for three seasons as Artistic Directors of SummerFest La Jolla, David Finckel and Wu Han launched Music@Menlo, a summer chamber music festival and institute in the San Francisco Bay Area. Each season, Music@Menlo features unique immersive programming, a roster of world-class artists, and a Chamber Music Institute for emerging and pre-professional musicians. In its young history, Music@Menlo garnered widespread critical acclaim; “the Muses themselves could hardly have designed a festival more assured of success than Music@Menlo.” (Musical America) Under David Finckel and Wu Han’s creative stewardship, Music@Menlo has emerged as one of northern California’s elite cultural institutions and the classical music community’s premier summer music destinations.
